About the session

Value is an idea that has been right at the core of agile ideals since the very beginning. It's a central outcome of pretty much every agile framework and a key accountability of most agile roles.

But, the agile delivery industry is in the midst of a value crisis... As budgets are cut and certainty is low, we're seeing huge pressure to demonstrate value in our work.

This was made clear to the presenter after receiving a score of 2 out of 5 in agile knowledge and failing a job interview on the basis that it wasn't clear how value had been delivered.

This workshop will teach you how to demonstrate value, how to create value and how to grow value.

Participant takeaways:

  • Treat work assignments as if you were going to present a case study for your next job interview
  • How to demonstrate value, and what might you change in advance to make this easier to show
  • Learn the Ecocycle liberating structure
  • Look at the value you currently bring, and find opportunities to support others to learn your skills, freeing you up to grow.

Themes:

Personal development, Being effective and developing skills in specific roles, Learning and development, Building together, Leading, Influencing, Coaching, Mentoring
